Kashafnak is an Arabic-first party-game platform for people sitting in the same room. It started as a single game — المتخفّي, Imposter Word, where one player at the table doesn't know the secret word — and grew into a platform for the format.

The moat is the join

Every party-game app dies at the same moment: the host has the app, and now five friends have to find it in the App Store, install it, and make an account — while everyone waits. Half of them don't bother, and the evening moves on to something else.

So Kashafnak inverts it. The host runs the app; guests scan a QR code and play in the browser with no download at all. Nothing to install, no account, no waiting.

The second-order effect is the part I care about: every guest who plays has now seen the app work, and every guest is a future host. The distribution mechanism and the gameplay are the same mechanism.

Building for Arabic first

This is not a translated app. It is designed in Arabic and laid out right-to-left from the start, for gatherings where Arabic is what's spoken. Word games in particular can't survive translation — the imposter mechanic depends on the specific texture of the words people would actually say out loud.

That constraint is also the opportunity. The Arabic App Store is not short of users; it is short of software built for them rather than ported at them.

Shipped

Live on the App Store and rated 5.0. The original spy game ships alongside it as a separate title.
